Inspiration Through Art
|
|
Amajika Youth and Children Arts Projects was started by Tu Nokwe and her family in KwaMashu in 1976 after the Soweto uprisings. Over the period of 27 years, Amajika has given birth to multifaceted music, arts and culture entrepreneurial programs. More than 2500 students became active members during this period. Our 3 year pilot programme, “Leadership The Artist’s Way”, has produced 20 graduates between 2000-2003. In 2001, the Mayor of Mogale City offered a farm as the new head quarters for the Amajika Farm International Arts School. Amajika is a thriving and refreshing organisation that knows no limits. With its ongoing development and expansion, Amajika will continue to uplift those who see their work, as well as those who do the work. We invite you to find out more about this arts initiative by selecting an option from the drop-down menu above. Click here to view a short video clip on Amajika. |
